What are the signs of someone who is bi-polar?

A female United Kingdom age 51-59, anonymous writes:

What are the signs of someone who is bi-polar? I swear sometimes I think my b/f has at least a mild version of the disease. We go along for weeks getting along just fine, everything is mellow and sweet between us and then all of a sudden, he just switches gears for the next 3 or 4 days he's horrible to be around. He seems oblivious to how ugly he can be. Then just like magic, the phase passes and he's back to his normal, sweet self. We've been together for 3 years now and I still don't know what happens that causes his switch to flip. I used to blame it on stress, or his job. Sometimes I even blamed myself, though there was never anything specific I could point my finger at. But whatever it is, he is just horribly rude, and awful to be around. He acts like he hates me. Could there be a possibility he's bi-polar?

Danielepew agony auntFade has the right information. However, in my humble opinion, a doctor should tell you whether he's bipolar or not. It's not an easy diagnosis.

If your boyfriend is bipolar, then his mood swings are not his fault. If, on the other hand, he's just mean, then he needs to be considered responsible for what he does.

PsychicDove agony auntOh Honey,

Even if he has a mild version of the disease it might develop into a more serious issue would it not? The best way would be to treat the disease in its initial stage.

Just google up 'free reiki attunements' and you will come across websites where they teach this Japanese system of spiritual healing. Reiki is used to heal aids, cancer, somatic diseases, fibromyalgia and lots more.

Don't blame yourself, the problem is really there so try not to ignore it and start removing the very root of the issue.

Take care Okay?

Good Luck and Best Wishes
