Umm well don't know what the chances are, you can ovulate at any time. But if you're taking the pill, if it's the first 30-days you're supposed to use a backup method because the pill isn't really effective the first month. So unless you took Plan B, which I highly doubt you did, then there's a pretty good chance you could be pregnant. I took some time off the pill as well for several months, and when I got back on the pill the nurse advised me to use a backup method the first 30-days, so I know the pill isn't effective the day you start using it if you haven't been using it for a while. So good luck with that, hopefully it does end up being a hard lesson learned.

Ok just for me to be sure of what you mean, the 4th of Jan you got your period and you started taking the pill for the first time on this day? Is that right? If so, the most recent medicical literature argues that if you take the pill for the first time on your VERY first day of bleeding when geting your period, you will be protected straight away.
Old medical advice says that you are only protected after a month of taking the pill, then they started to say only after 7-14 days and now they are saying if you take the first pill on the first day of bleeding you will be protected from day one. Most up to date doctors are now giving this advice, although some are rather cautious and still say wait7-14 days.
If you take the pill exactly how you were told to take it, (e.g. exact same time day each day, and never missing a pill) you are pretty well covered.
Yes you can get pregnant on the pill, but if you use it correctly according to instructiosn, the chances are like 2%. So try not to worry if you have taken the pill correctly.
However, I understand that you are still probably worried. But you need to be careful not to stress because stress can cause you to miss periods and if you stress enough, and miss a period then you will panic more and think you are pregnant when really it could just be a missed period due to stress!
My advice to you is, take a home pregnancy test to put your mind at ease. But once again, read the instructions carefully, depending on the brand and type you get, will vary when you can take it. Some you can take it before a missed period, or some after. Some tell you you can take them 7 days after conception.
Goodluck and remember you can always see your doctor.

Well, I would say you could be pregnant, because normally you need to take birthcontrol at least a whole month before it really is effective. But remember that when you have unprotected sex, though you are using birth control, there is always a chance of you getting pregnant. (although there is a chance of gettin preggers when you have protected sex too, lol)I think you will just have to wait to see if your period comes, and if it is a day late, then take a test.( first pee of the morning for best results) Periods can be late for many reasons, so don't just assume you are pregnant, sometimes worrying can actually delay your period. I doubt that you would be pregnant, but you definitly could be. You should also ask your doctor when the birth control that you take is effective. I'd hate to tell you that you need to take it for at least a month, when really its like three months or something like that. So you should ask yur doctor to be on the safe side. I hope that helps, good luck!
