I am sometimes embarrassed about this and I am trying to lose it...not to anyone, but to someone I truly like. So, it comes down to finding someone that I am physcially/sexually attracted to, and it is hard! I don't have extremely high standards, I just want someone who is similar to me...intelligent, good looking, easy going, adventuous but is also smart about what they do. Given the fact that I work in a biology lab, I really don't get to meet a whole lot of people. I hope my life story helps. Some people stay virgin simply because it just didn't happen.

It will show that (when you do find the one) that you are geniune and he will know how special it is to you, this will make the bond between yous stronger. Wait until you have found "the one", dont froo it all away now.

As most of the others have said, its not common that girls will stay a virgin untill wedd. I was 16 when i lost my virginity and so where most my friends, if not younger. I think it is highly unliky in this day and age, but if you know of someone that is, i say good on her.

It varies a lot between countries and between cultures.
The U.S. "Center for Health Statistics" says that about 10% of guys, and 15% of girls, are virgins up to the month they are married. (See http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/about/major/nsfg/abclist_p.htm#premarital , look for "Premarital Sex" near the bottom of the page.)
They also say that about 22% of 20-year old women are virgins (see http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/series/sr_23/sr23_025.pdf , Table 32) and about the same percentage of 20-year old men are virgins (see http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/series/sr_23/sr23_026.pdf , Table 14).

waiting for marriage is a personal choice that sadly most young men and women are opting not to keep. its quite unfortunate that premarital sex is now considered fashionable by way too many people. no one can ever tell you an exact number of girls who want to wait but i'd like to believe there are still some out there. most people will probably succumb to peer pressure before they walk down the aisle.

There will not be many- most will lose it to teenage relationships or drunken parties. Only the ones who truly believe in sex after marriage will stay virgins really...
