The standard lubricated cheep Trojan has been known to break and doesn't do much for either you or your girl. A lot of condoms are considered to be to be reliable, some unreliable, but they all can fail just as easily if not used correctly. I know this sounds dumb... they seem pretty self explanatory, but apparently it happens more often than not. make sure you leave a little room at the end, but not too much, just enough to allow the condom to stretch when the time comes. Good luck!

Use a well-known brand - Durex, Trojans, Mates, Jiffi (depends on which country you're from which is the leading brand)
Avoid brands that you've never heard of before. The worst condoms I've ever used came from a vending machine - all 3 ripped.
Remember that certain condoms, usually the "decorative" or "comedy" ones are for novelty use only and are not effective as a contraceptive. If this is the case, it should state on the packet.
If you're having anal sex, you'll need a thicker condom.

If you can find it in a drugstore, it's safe. All latex and latex substitutes are equally effective. I recommend Lifestyles ultra thins (and yes ultra-thins are just as effective as normal thickness) if you're not ordering online. To help prevent breakage, make sure to put a little lube on the inside of the condom before you put it on. Then, once it's on put some lube on the outside so in case she's not super wet, it won't have extra friction pulling. Also, make sure you get the right size. Good luck!

They all work about the same. Personally, I prefer lifestyles or trojan.
