A female age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I would like to lose weight because although people don't think of me as fat, I am very self conscious about my appearance. I would like to have a nice figure, but I'm afraid that I'm nearing that age where it's impossible to lose weight. My thighs, and chest, just gross me out, and I need to lose the weight.

When is it too late to get into shape, and lose weight?

What are some ideas regarding exercise if you enjoy being active but the gym bores you to death?

Thanks!

SirenaBlusera agony auntI LOVE swimming. I felt guilty about spending the money on a Y membership but... it's your health when all's said and done. The gym is good for you, but I'm not motivated to go to the gym because it's torture... when you enjoy your workout, you're motivated.

Thanks :)

Join a dance/yoga class

Get off the bus a few stops early

Use stairs instead of lifts

Take someones' dog for a walk

If you drive, walk to the shops instead

Wear a pedometer to motivate you

Go iceskating

I hit 25 this year.... not a happy birthday.

I've taken to just parking the car further down the street so I have to walk 100 yards in the morning.

Cut out the chocolate except for special treats.

And also just to little exercises like stretching and squeezing your bum etc when ever you are waiting for the kettle to boil or the microwave to ping. 10 squeezes only takes a few mins to do and if you do them once or twice a day then it should keep you toned. Also remember that good posture is everything... shoulders back and tummy in, and heels - they all make everything look better.

You are never going to look like you did when you were 15 but you can look hot!

Good Luck!! xx

lotus mama808 agony auntWell 1st, you need to change your diet. It's always the 1 thing that people seem to forget when it comes to weight loss. There is a proper diet for everyone, and they differ. See a nutritionist about that. It is never too late to change your figure. I know an 83 year old lady who got fit quick by becoming a raw foodist and exercising plenty. The best work out you can get is through swimming, as it is known to work out your entire body. Many people get fit with swimming as their daily workout. Only 15 to 20 minutes a day, and as your body gets stronger, you can do it for longer everyday. I love swimming, never really get bored of it. It's fun, too, to see your body fit in to smaller swimsuits as time progresses. Good luck!
