Is it true when a female loses weight the first place she loses it is her breasts!?! Because that's what my mum said her trainer told her... And i've lost weight and been measured and my breasts have reduced by an inch already? It's annoying me, i don't want to be skinny have toned figure and nothing up there!! It's too boyish for me... Is that true then? Is there any way to try not to loose weight there, or even so gain it there?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (13 June 2011):

That's not necessarily true and it depends on the individual. Weightloss usually occurs all over your body. Depending on the person, certain areas will look thinner before others. Like me for instance, weightloss first appears in my face not my breasts.

Regardless of where it appears first or last, the result will be a slimmer physique all around. So that will include somewhat smaller breasts. But don't fret. No matter how thin you are, breasts always retain that fatty tissue that makes them breasts. If you have substantially full breasts now, you will still have breasts even when the weight is off. Don't forget you want your body to look proportional. If your breasts didn't change even with the weight loss, they might end up looking too big for your physique once you lose all the weight.

Keep forward with your weight goal and weight loss and worry about it when the time comes. Chances are you will be happy with the result. I doubt it will be that drastic and will probably instead be proportional to your body, which is a good thing.

The Realist agony auntIt is generally true but keep in mind that they will not shrink away to nothing. most of the time they will get a bit smaller but then stay the same while the rest of your body loses the weight. With weight loss though the first place you lose weight is pretty much the last place you gain it. For example stomach fat will be the hardest to lose but it is pretty much the first place that you start to put on weight.

Keep working out and doing great, your chest may go down a little more but don't you worry you won't lose your breasts. They have tp lose a bit for the rest of you two follow.

A female reader, masquerade711 Canada +, writes (13 June 2011):

masquerade711 agony auntFirst of all, every woman is different, and will lose weight differently based on your hormone balances. An important thing to understand is that your breasts are made up of a large amount of fat, so it's not entirely unheard of to lose weight in your chest first.

Simply put, there's not really a way to avoid losing weight in a certain area. Once the other areas of your body begin to slim down, they will look more in proportion with your chest, and you won't feel so "boyish". But remember, losing weight is not all about image. It's also about your health! So if you think your boobs are too small, focus on how healthy you're becoming and that will help you to feel good about what you're doing!
