writes: I had a boyfriend who was my best friend before we got together. but only a few weeks ago we split, but as we were friends before the split, i asked if we could still be friends-he said yes. But when i see him around school and say hi to him and wave, he just ignores me. also on the bus he doesn't talk to me as often as he used to, and doesn't smile at me when he gets on the bus anoymore like he used to. Now everytime i get ignored by him or i see him in school having fun with my other friends, but now me...i feel like crying. please help i really want to be friends with him again...but i don't know what to do.

reader, anonymous, writes (20 April 2007): This is verified as being by the original poster of the questioni have given this guy time already (2 months)! yeah he might need a little more time, becauuse i know that he reeally liked me, but shouldn't i be the one ignoring him? since he dumped me? plus he dumped me because of another girl so shouldn't i be mad at him? we spoke a little today and him and his m8 called me a cow and a dog-i could tell they were jooking but i don't knnow what to do.

The guy just cannot switch to friendsip that fast.
For some guys the transition may take several years.
He needs to get over his feelings to you at first; after that if there is his will, he may become your friend.
Now about him ignoring you: I guess this is his way to deal with feelings toward you after you split.
Just be around and wait a couple of months, then approach him and say hi - it works in some cases.
