We want different futures. Should I stay with my boyfriend?

A female , anonymous writes:

I have been with my partner for over 3 years and do love him but I'm realising now that we both want such different things out of life. I think he's just happy to settle for whatever he gets, but I'm not.

What should I do? Should I stay because I do love him and we have been through quite a lot together or do I leave and search for my true soulmate?

Please help.

you are ambitious, he's not. that's ok as long as he doesn't have a problem with you doing what you want. he'll be happy with whatever you do. if you find it difficult to be with someone unambitious then it may be time to call it a day but if you love him and you can do what you want, there's no need to split
