Don't ever say anyone is too good for you! Once you start to lose self confidence it's a slippery slope and you'll end up with none. Trust me, it's happened to me. You say he likes you, therefore he sees you as good enough. I understand your concerns about your best friend because girls can change their minds quite a lot. Why not have a girly night out to check she's definitely okay with it and really stress how much you want this, how strongly you feel for this guy. Hopefully then she'll realise how special it is to you and will respect your relationship. She'll also appreciate that you care enough for her to check that she's really okay with it. Good luck!

Just let it go, all you can do is fancy him and that’s it. Things do happens you would have your fair share of fun in time to come with some on else. She’s your best mate, that’s not a nice thing to do.

NO one is "way too good" for you. YOU are "way to good" for everyone else. Well, alright, I don't want to set you up with a huge ego complex, here. But still... never think that someone is "too good for you" and don't let that silly thought keep you from trying to get the guy you like.
Now, if your best friend is with him too, that could complicate things. One at a time, ladies!!
Actually, I'm not really sure what the actual question was. But there's my tid bit.
