A female , anonymous writes:

My boyfriend and I are in love, and we do not have sex because we do not feel that it will benefit our relationship right now. We do however immensly enjoy foreplay, and "dry sex". Well I've missed my period after 'dry sex' and was wondering if I could be pregnant if we had only underwear on?

Go to your local drugstore & purchase a pregnancy test.

If you are not pregnant, but still fearful about it, make an appt with your doctor & get guaranteed results & peace of mind.

In the future, to prevent further upset, do NOT let his penis come near your vagina...he can use his fingers & tongue to bring you to satisfaction.

I wish you both the best.

Rebecca Batchelor agony auntDry sex involves a couple stimulating each other with their clothes on; rubbing each others bodies together etc. I think this is what you have been doing?

Any sperm that is spilled in or around the vagina or vulva can lead to pregnancy but if you had clothes on, it is highly unlikely.

Providing you do keep your clothes on, this will create a barrier for the sperm. Women take the pill which increases cervical mucas to prevent sperm from penetrating so that gives you an idea.

By all means take a pregnancy test to put your mind at rest and consider contraception for the future 'just in case' but I would say that it would be very rare for you to get pregnant this way if you had some form of clothing on.

Its posible. if you were touching each other in an intimate way then there is a good chance that you may be pregnant, even through clothes. A man doesnt have to ejaculate to release some sperm so even if he didnt cum, you could still be pregnant. It only takes one sperm to make a baby.

Go to your doctor, get a pregnancy test, and he/she will advise you from there.

A female reader, Bev Conolly Australia +, writes (5 July 2005):

Bev Conolly agony auntSigh... Yes. It can be incredibly easy to get pregnant.

Sperm cells can easily swim through woven cloth if there's enough fluid, so it depends on where he ejaculated and how much got into your underwear etc.

I'd advise you to get a pregnancy test to either find out for sure, or to put your mind at ease about this missed period. I'd also suggest that you practice other types of sex, like oral or mutual masturation etc, if you want to "have your cake and eat it too", sexually speaking. This kind of sexual release is a bit too close to the Real Thing to protect you from pregnancy.
