Always use condoms, and if you are unsure tell your wife to see a doctor for the contraceptive pill. By using them together the chances of her becoming pregnant are tiny.
It's great that you are planning a child so you can give it the very best start in life.
Good Luck!! xx

I always used condoms in between my babies and they were fine. They may not be the most spontaneous thing when you're making love, but they do the job. They would do no harm either. There is really no safe time to have sex without contraception unless the woman is 100% regular there are risks involved, and the worry is really not worth the few minutes fun there is. Well done for being responsible. Good luck.

Condoms do their job pretty well, so you can trust them to keep her from becoming pregnant as long as they don't tear or anything, and they will protect from pregnancy all days of the week. Remember, an unplanned pregnancy is never as wonderful as a planned pregnancy.
