A male reader, Soja Exiles United States +, writes (18 December 2009):

Soja Exiles agony auntOk, get off your high horse. You have a son, is this the kind of guy you want to be involved with your life?

take responsibility and focus on your son instead of yourself. My father was an alcoholic, and because of my strong mother I was able to overcome the drama.

Let go of yourself and him and put your mind in the right situation, your unhappiness will leak into your son, is that what you want?
