Phone sex in general is when you touch yourself and talk dirty on the phone at the same time. If your boyfriend was masturbating then it was phone sex for him at least.

I thought, "so that's what they call it these days." lol Now generally, phone sex is telling each other what you would do to the other if you were there together, but it sounds like you were having an intimate connection that still produced a similar result, so from an indirect perspective, it sounds like it could be titled that.
