Question - (5 August 2010) 2 Answers - (Newest, 24 August 2010)
A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I want to know if my cousin was flirting with me or he was just really really exhited to see me after years. Ok i went to visit my cousin and his wife and I kept on gettig this flirtatious vibe from him. He would stare at me, tell me i am really beautiful, try to tickle my sides, hug me, tell me that he loves me,when he was cooking he fed me from whatever he was cooking. I thought this was a bit odd so I felt a bit akward but didnt want to be mean because I don't know him that well and it's the first I am seeing him after years. I don't know if he just acts that way all the time or if it was flirting. It was all good we were getting along very well. In hindsight however I wonder if it was inappropriate...not sure if that is how cousins interact with eachother as I have never been around any other male cousins before. Please some insights...

A male reader, paszkowt Poland +, writes (24 August 2010):

Could be something of "safe flirting". He has a wife, but feels attracted to you, so he started some "innocent" fun - like playing with a forbidden fruit. As you are his cousin, he could disguise it under playful "family" behaviour.

Logicgirl agony auntIt can be because it was a long time but if you feel awkward, then put a little bit distance between you two and say that you feel awkward by his actions(not openly). If he tries to feed you then move away form him and take the same food from the plate an d eat it, as if you're trying to tell him that you can eat by yourself. Dont give him opturnities(?) about him trying to tickling you or something else. Show him that you dont like it and do it until he understands. And for the last, leave that place, say that you have things to do.
