writes:hi im 17 and have a boyfriend i have been having unprotected sex with. thing is i wasnt meant to be due on my period until the 6th december but i come on today which is a week and a half early, this keeps happening, its happend about 3 times now, i keep coming on always a week early, is this normal? it never use to happen they use to be normal periods every 4 weeks, but now i never know when im going to get it. sometimes im heavy, sometimes im light, sometimes i only bleed for 3 days, then sometimes i'll bleed for 7 days, i dont understand why this is happening, i use to have normal periods... whats wrong with me? should i be worried?

reader, anonymous, writes (26 November 2009): This is verified as being by the original poster of the questionno im honestly not trying to get pregnant, it may seem that way but i aint and i dont want that to happen, i wouldnt be on here asking for help otherwise. we dont have STD's we have been checked and are fine, i know i have to go on something as soon as possible which im going to sort out with the doctor tomorrow. the reason why we havent used protection is because my boyfriend dont like wearing condoms, and in the heat of the moment i never think it would happen to me, but i have been lucky not to get pregnant, but thanks for your help and im now going to go on the pill.

 First things first as the anonymous male said, if you are having unprotected sex then you are trying to get pregnant. If you dont want a baby you use contraception - simple as that. So if I were you I would be more surprised that you are still getting periods because you really should be pregnant by now!
You can still have periods when you are pregnant so you need to take a pregnancy test - I think you should go to the doctors and get them to do an official one, and then based on those results you can also discuss your irregular periods. Irregular periods are common for teenagers but they can also indicate other problems so you need to get yourself checked out by a doctor. Going on the pill is one way to regulate your periods (and it will stop you from getting pregnant thank god!) so the doctor might prescribe that for you.
You also need an STD test - if you dont use condoms then chances are your boyfriend could have passed an STD on to you or you could have passed one on to him, so it is best to be safe and get checked.
In future please use birth control and condoms if you do not want a child - taking risks with your health and the life of an unborn child is just stupid and immature. There is no reason for you not to use contraception - birth control is free, you can get free condoms from the doctor and family planning clinics, and if you think you would forget to take the pill then get the injection - it is the same hormones as the pill but in an injection form, and you only have to have it once every 3 months.
Please go to the doctors ASAP and they will be able to help.

So why do you want to get pregnant so badly?

I think you are fine if your getting a period there is no way u can be pregnant your young so ur periods will keep cahnging to different times and different flows heavy or light, get checked for stds tho!!

 i think you should go to planned parenthood and get a free pregnancy test. they are completely confidential. because i remember even though i still had a period i was pregnant. it would be the right thing to do. maybe even go to a doctor and tell them everything your going through. i hoped that i helped.
