Question - (26 March 2009) 1 Answers - (Newest, 26 March 2009)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Well here goes,

I've know this lad for 3 years lets call him Mike. When i first started hanging round with him we didnt really know each other becuase i was mates with his mate who he'd known for like 10 years lets call him Fred.

Well Fred went travelling for 10 weeks last summer and me and mike got to no each other. We are really good friends. Best friends really. We see quite a bit of each other.

Well heres the problem. I have started to really like him. Recently he bin changin his looks and asked me to go shopping with him. Everyone thinks we are a couple even our mates and we just laugh it off.

Recently he went threw my phone and seen some people who i had been texting and it looked really bad but they are all old friends from school and my cousins.

he gave me this look like OMG YOU SL*G. it really hurt i sed they were just mates but he was having none of it. I WAS CRUSHED!

I cant decide weather he likes me too. He's never had a proper girlfriend i dont think. Hes really shy and never talks bout his feelings or who he like or anything so its really hard to try and figure him out. I am quite loud and have quite a few lad mates and he thinks that i am "seein em all" when i'm not.

God this is really complicated. I'd be gutted if i told him and he didnt like me back, yet i dont want to start seein anyone incase he does like me

Sorry its so long.

Thanks for read :D

A male reader, guppypig United States +, writes (26 March 2009):

He sounds like a nice guy who doesn't want to date a slag. If you are a slag, you should respect his wishes.

Assuming for a moment that you are not in fact, a slag, you could open up a conversation about what he likes in a girl. If he steers the conversation toward characteristics similar to your own (be honest!), he probably does like you. If he lists characteristics exactly opposite to yours, he probably does not like you. If he describes neutral characteristics, he is probably a homosexual.

Hope that helps!
