For about.. 2 years, i've had half of my hair dyed blonde (at a salon), while the other half stays brunette. Recently, I have had my blonde stripped out of my hair, and now my hair is a very light brown/dirty blonde.Would I be able to buy a blonde hair dye that I can use at home, so that I can home dye my hair? And not have to spend a lot of money going to a hair salon every few months to have my roots dyed?Any help please?

I think that it would be easier for you to have it proffesionally done first and then do your roots your self with the same dye that they used.
I have dyed hair before and know that the picture on the package is not what it will turn out to be like. It's hard to factor in how much brown will stay and how much blonde you will get. I just don't want you to end up with something you don't like and then have to pay the salon anyway.
Also a method that will work is to first bleach your hair. Although it is effective it tands to make your hair like straw so I would stay away from it if anyone suggests it.
With this sort of thing it's better to pay to learn once then take the chance of it not turning out.

Are you wanting to go all blonde? And how light are you wanting? If you're just wanting to dye the light brown/dirty blonde part then I'd say you can go ahead and buy a box of blonde dye. I'd actually buy the temporary color just to test to see if it works. Ash is a greenish gray color, if you have any red tones, or any orange tones then it's best to use ash. If you have naturally golden brown undertones then you can use a golden blonde. Remember if you botch it up, then you can always go back to the salon and they'll fix it.
I have a natural red undertone, so when I was blonde(natural dark brunette), the pros used an ash blonde and a toner to help with the brassiness.
Now if you want it all blonde, then you're going to have to see a professional. Being blonde and maintaining it, is very pricey.

Sure you can. I did it for years. You have to watch the colour, though. From the sound of it, the part of your hair that was stripped is now an ashy blonde. So when dying over it to match roots, get an ashy blonde dye. The biggest mistake brunettes make when going blonde is to choose a golden colour. Gold = fake. Ash = natural looking.
Now, if you're planning on dying your brown hair along with it, I would let a hairdresser do it. Either that or go a few shades lighter with hairdye.
Good luck! One more thing: when touching up the roots, do ONLY the roots. This will keep damage at a minimum.
