But after he left, I noticed my bed was full of what looked like sand at first. I picked up one of the larger pieces, and upon further examination, they look like scabs, or some kind of dead skin and body-oil combination. Should I be concerned? What could this be? I didn't notice any bumps or scabs on his body. Although lately he has been getting randomly itchy on his arms and torso every time he comes over. He also recently got a new tattoo, and I thought they may just be scabs from that, but it seems like there were too many of them to come from that small of an area. Help!

And the scabs were more like oily skin flakes, and they were light-coloured. But I'm still confused as to where they came from, because I really didn't feel or see anything rough, scabby, or peeling on his body. Don't know if this extra information helps any.

If it is, he'll give it to all his fellow travellers as well as to you! Just in case it is scabies (which is a guess), wash your bedding and the clothes you wore at his last visit at the highest temperature possible.

If he just got a new tattoo then its more then likely its the tattoo scabbing itd usually how tattoos small little scabs along with peeling of the skin !! It could be anything he could have a skin rash or spots on his body he is picking !! I doubt its anything like herpes i probably would have been to sore for him to have sex with you if he was in the middle out of outbreak
Just keep an eye out for any irritation on the vagina ! Im sure its nothing and your just over thinking it a little bit x

It might be Morgellons Disease.
Let me tell you straight away that Morgellons is a very controversial disease, insofar half of the doctors do not even believe it's a disease, they call it " delusional parassitosis ", I.e. they consider it a mental disturbance of someone who scracthes himself compulsively, scratching a itch which isn't there, and causing himself microlesions which blah blah. This, in theory. In practice they are hard pressed to explain the abundant brownish or black sandlike shedding of skin granules found on the sheets after a night's sleep , like in your case. The person should have been sctratchim himself with a rake , in his sleep, to cause that.
Whatever the origin, anyway , a dermatititis ( skin inflammation ) is a dermatitis, and requires medical attention. Your guy needs to see a dermatologist , and right away.
