A female United Kingdom age 30-35, *loveshopping writes:

Hey:)

Well I split up from my boyfriend in August, but after a couple of weeks we were flirting and stuff again. 9 days ago we agreed to go out together as he claimed he had changed so I thought you only live once... why not.

So we met up on the night round his house and it was great, snogging and cuddling, like good old times! But then I didn't hear from him all week, so I was like whats going on. Then 8 days later (yesterday) there is a party and he didn't acknowledge me at all. I know we were trying to keep it a secret but to hug everyone except me is plain rude. He sat in the living room watching crappy reality shows with these other girls and i was with my other friends. When it had been about 3 hours I went to flirt with him and ask him to dance and he just looked at me as if I was stupid and said no. So I tried to talk to him a few more times and I said to him "You don't always know what you've got till it's gone" and he kicked off at me swearing and going we finished for a reason the first time. What am I doing with you this is a mistake, you are the mistake. Look at you drunk and everything when I was tipsy I was not paralyetic.

So he dumped me so then I was like fine OK move on I can actually get someone who doesn't treat me like poo. So there was this really nice lad that I had my eye on every since me and my ex broke up, but recently things had gone a bit flat. So we were talking and we ended getting off and just playfully having a good time. And I realised that this lad was so much better personality, kissing, looks wise, that my ex was a loser. So I was sooo happy:)And he said he wanted to meet up again and then my recently split up ex walks in on us up against a freezer and he is swearing saying eff you and everything. And then he goes and the lad I am with says he will contact me and goes. After this supposedly I kissed a lad on the cheek but it wasn't serious :P haha!

So heres me the morning after still waiting for a text and everything. My ex hating me. The boy I like potentially using me as his entertainment for the night. My friends not knowing what the hell is going on.

If you were in my situation what would you do?

Would you ring the lad you got with?

My head tells me my ex is bad news but my heart says I grew up with him and I have this stupid idea he has changed :/

What shall I do ?!?!!? ... please help:/

Btw my ex is like my first love and first kiss and everything so this other lad is like a whole new world :)

A male reader, CJH United Kingdom +, writes (21 December 2010):

CJH agony auntYou say you grew up with him, from where I'm sitting, I'd say it was just you that grew up sweetheart. Don't hang around to be treated like dirt, no matter what he feels for you, he seems incapable of treating you with respect which is a huge deal isn't it?

It might hurt initially but, once you've got rid and you start to discover happiness without him, you'll be so much better off.

Who knows, one day he might realise what he's lost and he might decide it's time to grow up.

No matter what happens, for now, youre better off cutting him off for your own good really.

Good luck.
