He happens to be my neighbor, we're both the same age and we're both in the middle of weird breakup situations so I personally feel it's nothing serious. However, what's even kind of more embarressing is that he handcuffed me last night with these old handcuffs I have. Well, I told him I didn't have a key and he thought that was funny...kind of but not quite as he broke the chain between the cuffs but I had to go to work today with a long sleeved shirt...How should I get them unlocked? I want to go to the Police as I would imagine they can open them right away but I am so freaking embarressed...HELP!!! Reply to this Question Share |

She was not very pleased with me & told me that it was a good thing they didn't have any escaped prisoners yesterday. I let her keep the cuffs! They didn't ask me for any ID; guess I looked normal enough. So good ending to weird issue! Thanx!

Well you could always go to the police and say that your partner was getting over zealous with mucking around and the chain broke and now you don't know where the key is.
Yes they will have a giggle but I think they also have to have a level of discretion in these matters.
You could also go to a locksmith or something and say what happened and see if they can help in any way. May be less embarrassing for you.
The only other option is someone with a hacksaw but unless they are very precise I would be very reluctant on that option.
I think a locksmith would be much better. It will cost something to get them to come out to you though or if you know a local shop somewhere they may be able to do it there with proper lock picking tools.
Let us know how you get on.
I would also say that your neighbour is not that great a friend either to leave you in this situation so be wary I would.
Take care.
