I have sort of fallen for her since then, and wish I had made a move at the time. Before we got friendly that night, they made me dance with a blonde woman much older than me, which was a laugh. Ever since then, my crush keeps saying 'ooh, you like your blondes' or 'at uni you'll have to find a blonde' and so on. This is probably meaningless but why would she do that? Am I supposed to say 'no I don't' or something? [she is a brunette]

It could be that she harbors A little resentment. I say lay it out there on the table and tell her you have feelings for her. Good luck!

Sounds like she could just like you back. You could say, "brunettes are more my type. Speaking of which, want to go out for coffee?" Or something a little less ridiculous sounding. There's no reason you can't make a move still even if you didn't that one night.

I think she is just waiting for you to make the first move, and the blonde thing is just to mess with your head. Go ahead and ask her out agian.
