Question - (4 March 2010) 7 Answers - (Newest, 4 March 2010)
A female Canada age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Is there any difference in someone putting xXx at the end of a text compared to x, or xx or xxx? I just wondered because, well my situation is kinda complicated and this guy never tends to put any kisses on texts ever! But this time after we'd been for a night out together he did(we were not drunk btw but did have a good time) Hes only ever put kisses on facebook messages that hes sent to everyone in a group(fans) and thats only been xx. So does the xXx maybe mean something?

eyeswideopen agony auntMy husband would prefer to cut off his right hand with a rusty hand saw before he puts an "X" or an "O" at the bottom of a text. He, and I'm sure he's not the only one, follows the premise of WWJWD, that is, What Would John Wayne Do.

I always thought that X=Hug and O=Kiss.

To ME:

X = Big/Bear hug, x=plain hug,

O=Big/Wet/Sloppy Kiss, o=peck on cheek.

Again... it really just depends on whom you are communicating with.

Yeah if he doesn't normaly put any kisses at all to you in texts then the 'xXx' means he is starting to like you (my opinion anyway)

Oh, and just one more thing....does he ever put kisses on anything else? Cards, etc?

A female reader, Accountable United Kingdom +, writes (4 March 2010):

Accountable agony auntI think it varies from person to person - i know a lot of people who dont think anything of the amount of x's they put on the end of texts, and some people who will basically tell people what they think of them through the amount of kisses they put!

In this case it seems the 'xXx' could mean something, if its out of the ordinary for him - definitely worth some investigating! :)
