so, my boyfriend and i have been having a lot of unprotected sex, where he also finishes inside me. i have only been on birth control pill for a month now. i just got my period today(when i was supposed to according to my pills) but its just a thick brown discharge thats not even taking up a full tampon in 6 hours. i have been feeling nauseous for a while, been getting a lot of headaches, i have been napping a few times a week during the day after school and feelings tired all through out the day, I've been getting annoyed by the smallest things so easily, I've been feeling bloated and had a bit of cramping through out the last few weeks, my breasts have felt larger, heavier and a bit sore and my areolas have looked larger to both me and my boyfriend and i have been waking up more frequently in the night. do you think there is a possibility i could be pregnant? or could it just be my body's reaction to me starting birth control?

Well a lot of it could be your birth control. While all those are symptoms of pregnancy, it is MOST likely your birth control. I think you should take time t read about your bc. There should be a white paper folded into asquare on your b.c packet. Birth control can make you gain weight, feel nausious, it could be the cause for your headaches ( because that isn't really a prego symptom) and for your feeling so tired. If you are concerned I would take a pregnancy test, as well as consulting your doctor about your symptoms, but really do take time to read the while folded paper attacted to the b/c packet. I just did the same thing about a week ago lol. I was feeling not so hot, so I looked up the symptoms of b/c I've only taken it for two weeks. Anyways I hope that helped!!!

it is most likely your bodies reaction to the pill. there are a whole bunch of new hormones surging around your body and it takes several months to settle on the pill. however, there is of course the possibility of being pregnant so the only thing you can do is wait and take a pregnancy test in a few weeks!

in the future to avoid these sort of scares it may be worth using condoms as well! things such as forgetting to take your pill, taking it too late, vomitting, diarrhoea can all stop the pill from providing contraception. condoms will reassure you a bit more in the the future.

trueatheart agony auntHi,

Your symptoms sound very similar to the symptoms I had when I was taking Microgynon 30 (a contraceptive pill which didn't agree with me). I also thought I was pregnant! It's very unpleasant. You should see your doctor a.s.a.p. and tell her everything you have written here.

LilPixie agony auntMost likely just your body getting used to the pill. Remember, the pill is a hormonal form of birth control, so your hormones will be all over the place.

As your on your period I doubt that you are pregnant but it's always best to make sure so get yourself a test.
