Struggling with my foreskin

A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hello everybody,

I'm a 16 year old male and I have some questions/concerns regarding my uncircumcised penis.

Over the years I have managed to pull my foreskin back, to the point were it is very easy to do when i am not erect.

Although, whenever I am erect I manage to pull it down over the entire tip/end of my penis and a few cm more. But it is relatively uncomfortable as i find that the "frenulum" (see foreskin parts here: http://www.penileanatomy.com/pics/anatomy_2.jpg ) is stretching quite a bit. The end of the foreskin, the hole/ring, is also very tight. Whenever i am erect and try to retract it, it feels as if it is cutting of the blood/it is uncomfortable.

When I am not erect i occasionally try to stretch the "ring" of the foreskin with my fingers because simply retracting my foreskin does not seem to do the job...

So basically I'm worried about my frenulum and the tip of my foreskin/ring. I do not no how to stretch the frenulum and i am very afraid of breaking it. I have heard of people breaking their frenulum, resulting in alot of blood and pain. Is this an option? It seems my foreskin would be alot more enjoyable without one...

Thanks

Oh yeah, and i forgot to mention.

In response to "beingblack"'s link-http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_stretch_your_foreskin

I have considered stretching my foreskin, but im worried about the frenulum. Is this what everybody else is experiencing?

I feel like it is NOT the foreskin that is having so much trouble but the frenulum? Maybe it's to short? is this a possibilty? THanks!

Thanks for all the help guys.

When everybody says, "I had alot of trouble pulling back my foreskin" ect. ect. , you are all referring to when you are erect or not? Becuase I only am having a lot of trouble pulling it back when i AM erect.

Also, i am far away from my foreskin going back on its own whenever i am erect... This worries me and i feel like i have alot of stretching ahead of me... This sucks... And i am far to embarrassed to go to a doctor, mainly because that would require me to go to my mother first (as i am under 18)...

Faraday agony auntSome overcome this problem by circumcision, but it isn't necessary. Firstly, as I am not qualified to gove you medical advice, I strongly suggest that you visit your doctor; embarrassing, but essential.

I suspect he will prescribe a mild steroidal cream to soften and ease your prepuce and solve the problem, but please do not apply it yourself without consulting your doctor first.

Beingblack agony auntI am always interested in these questions as I have been in your position myself.

When I was a teenager my foreskin was incredibly tight, and I could not pull it back over the head of my penis without experiencing immense discomfort. Basically, I hated the 'feel' of having the glans exposed to air, let alone allowing anyone to even touch it.

This is normal, and it's ok, the exposure needs to be done frequently to get used to that feeling.

Then when I was 17, I split the frenulum during sex. Yes, there was a huge amount of blood, so much so that the poor girl started wondering if it was her! (My Mum's carpet was never the same).

Remember I was 17, she was 16, I may have been too eager, and maybe she wasn't quite wet enough yet.

Think about it, an erect penis is engorged with blood. But to be honest, although I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, it isn't as painful as you might think. I didn't really feel any pain until afterwards.

As long as your partner is ready and well lubricated, you shouldn't have a problem.

During initial penetration, the foreskin peels back on its own, thats why you need to get used to pulling your foreskin over your glans while erect.

Enjoy the practice.

A female reader, StuckAndConflicted Australia +, writes (8 January 2010):

There are many web-site which offer some suggestions for stretching - surgery and non-surgical. Easiest non-surgical is every day in a warm shower, stretch the foreskin. It will take months.

My partner broke his frenulum. He suffers quite a bit of pain. Didn't want surgery and couldn't be bothered doing the stretching.

Sex is no longer quite as enjoyable and free as it once was. He now has to hold on to the base of his penis during sex to keep the foreskin over the head of his penis. I beleive the pain has affected him psychologically as he can't maintain an erection the way he used to.

I recommend doing the research, stretching and looking at your longer term options.
