Question - (25 June 2008) 8 Answers - (Newest, 26 June 2008)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I've been wondering this probably for about a few weeks now. I had anal sex with my boyfriend and I know for a fact he's clean. He's shown me papers. I know I'm clean because I too have also had a test. If both of us are clean is it still possible to transmitt any std's through anal sex? Even if we both are STD free?

A male reader, Marco262 United States +, writes (26 June 2008):

By definition, you can't get an STI unless one of you is a carrier. Tests aren't always completely accurate, but I'd say they're accurate enough that you can consider yourself safe from STIs.

At worst, if you guys aren't careful, you could tear some skin back there (or in there) and develop an infection. But it wouldn't be from any sexually transmitted disease, just from the pathogens that naturally exist in/on your butt.

Go slow, use lots and lots of lube, and don't be afraid to stop at any time and try another day. For more info, surf around the net. There are lots of good sites with good advice out there for how to have good and safe anal sex.

No, its not, look at it this way, you cant get something from nothing. If neither one of you has an std than its impossible for you or him to get one. If you are too embarrased to speak to someone about this than webmd.com and wikipedia.org are a couple good resources, also c.d.c Center for disease Control there website has a lot of info and statistics. it is possible however for a woman to get a yeast infection if she and her partner go from anal sex to vaginal sex without any cleaning.

I have read what the other aunts hve posted; they are right; but I want to urge you to be very carefull; you can do no harm to either to be extra carefull; use a condom; then you will never have to live with this kind of FEAR!

Be wise; and avoid problems!

Best wishes!

STD's don't just pop up out of the air. If neither of you have an STD, then neither of you have an STD. This means that no matter HOW you have sex, whether it be oral, anal or even upside down, you will STILL not have an STD.

Unless you go and have sex with someone who already has an STD.

babewithbrains agony auntIf you use a condom, and you've been checked recently, and all tests were negative for STIs then you won't get a STI that way. You can get illnesses from other things that then can become STIs but this is rare.

As long as you use a condom then you'll be OK.
