Staring at you, listening intently, and getting nervous while talking to you: are these signs of romantic interest or just politeness?

Question - (6 May 2011) 2 Answers - (Newest, 6 May 2011)
A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

If you’re in a relationship, would you… stare at a woman, wait for her/make your way to talk to her (but you don’t flirt), catch her eyes, your body is turned towards her and you’re focused on the conversation, ask sincere questions and you listen attentively, you also get nervous and sweat when you’re talking to her, so you tell her funny stories to make her laugh. Are you interested, or, are you just being friendly and polite, and you have good human relation skills?

In addition, you have her #, but you don’t call or text her? Is it because your guard is up and you're afraid to get hurt? But when you see her, you find a way to get close to talk to her? I'm absolutely confused and puzzled. Any input would be helpful. Thank you, kindly.

Err, well, maybe that question might have something to do with this statement:

If you’re in a relationship, would you… stare at a woman

Perhaps he doesnt take it any farther because he (or you) is in a relationship?

Could it be that he is simply being respectful of his relationship (or your relationship)?

hope_i_could_help agony auntYes!, I think he is interested in you and just afraid of being rejected. He is not calling or texting you maybe because he do not know what to say. Maybe he's a timid or shy type.
