So the thing is, I started spotting like a week before my actual period started. I had actual bleeding on some days... but last Sunday I got my proper period, like I was expecting (I always get it on Sundays).Well, I'm bored of having bled for a week already and now one more! I was wondering if pennyroyal or some other herb can help me end it faster? Not today or tomorrow but maybe on Friday? I mean, I only have a certain ammount of blood so using these herbs should help it come out faster right? I know I'll have heavier bleeding, but I just want it to be over already. So would pennyroyal be of any help? I remember before I started taking birth control I used pennyroyal to induce my periods when they were late and it worked fine (I hear it makes the uterus contract so that endometrial lining comes out faster). Does anyone have any experience? I'm sick of bleeding, as I said. Thanks!

Celtic tiger gives excellent advice here and I don't think I can add much more.
You should go back to your doctor to discuss this. When I was a shift worker I had to take my pills at varying times of day and it didn't affect me like that. If you are on the progesterone-only Pill, however you MUST take them at the same time each day or they won't be effective. If taking pills is a hassle for you, you might want to consider the injection or the implant.

What you have to remember is that when you are on Birth control your monthly bleed is actually a "withdrawal" bleed rather than an actual period. It is not the same as a period and is the result of not having the stimulation of the chemical hormones in your body.
If you are spotting and bleeding whilst on BC then you need to book an appointment with your Dr or a Nurse ASAP to find out if there is anything amiss, or if you need to change to a new form of pill.
The birth control pill can affect people in different ways, and often one that works fine for years, can suddenly start causing problems, as your body changes and requires new things. So go see the Doctor to make sure!
Also, on a side note - you talk about herbs? Please remember that often herbal remedies can actually make the contraceptive pill LESS EFFECTIVE, and actually react against it, so you should never mix them.
Please go and seek proper medical advice on this!
