Hello im 15 years old, never had sex but i do masterbate. I think i might have hpv I am not sure.

I googled this too but i want the agony aunts help also.

I have this bump around my vagina. It hurts to touch its hard and i dont know how to explain it, ive just ignored it today and i know i have to ask some one. I just need to know if i can make it go away!

If you do wonder, I have shaved it.Once, but that was a while ago so its not an ingrown hair.

I cant tell my parents or even my mom. They frown upon masterbation. So i cant contact my family Doctor either.

Its been there since last night, at least thats when i noticed it. I did masterbate 2 nights ago. I am not sure how quickly it hpv happens or if it is even hpv. I just want it gone.

I have never been sexually active with ANYONE so you know.

Please help me, my hearts racing, i dont want to have an std without even having sex first!

I told my mom, she said i'll be fine and to worry. But if it comes back into painfully hurts i wont just sit back and wait again.

No it wasnt full of any fluid, as far as i could tell.

I can feel it still, it's gone down a lot and it doesnt hurt at all now.

Cerberus, Since ive asked this question its gone down a lot. I took a long hot shower and massaged around it. (which you probably didnt want to know) but i just thought mabye that could be helping. I know self treatment isnt the correct answer, but i thought id try something and pray it helped.

But that still doesnt explain what it is. Before i asked, It literally felt like it was as if i had a tiny boucey ball. I almost could feel under it.

And Cerberus, Thank you.

I have another question, non related to this. I will ask so it is put up for everyone, but its about my LDR and if were together long enough, our first time.

Thank you Aunts

You don't have to apologize to us OP, you've done nothing wrong.

It's just we know the dangers of finding strange lumps, they could be nothing but they could be a serious thing too.

The reason we're so insistent that you go to the doctor OP is because if it's serious then it needs to be checked as soon as possible.

The reason you should never try to find out what it is on the internet is because you might get it wrong, believe it or not OP people have been very seriously ill, went online and somebody told them what they thought it was and that it was nothing, that person then believed them didn't go to the doctor because they thought they were fine and ended up in big trouble, because they weren't and they waited too long to go to a real doctor.

I'm not saying that will happen to you, only a doctor can diagnose you, it's probably nothing major but you have to get checked.

It's your body OP, you only get one of them, if something is wrong with it you have to go get it fixed. Never be afraid of going getting help OP when it comes to your body, our health is the most important thing in the world, it is the first and most important thing you must take care of, you should never compromise when it comes to your health, never be scared of doing what you have to when it comes to protecting your body.

Tisha-1, i dont think you read my other update. It isnt painful to walk now.

My step and i dont fight about my room.I keep it nice clean like i do the house thank you.

Its gone down since my last update so you know. I hate doctors, ive had a tramatic past with clinics and hospitals. I will go if need be.

You guys dont quite understand why i cant talk to my dad. He smokes medical pot, a lot. Has perscription meds to take (total of 12 per day) and drinks beer from noon to when he goes to bed. I dont know how he's still walking. So he's always angry at everyone and yells a lot too.

If this bump isnt gone by tomorrow morning, then i'll talk to my mom. Im really sorry im putting this off til tomorrow after asking your help. I truely am. And thank you so much agony aunts.

Thank you

Tisha-1 agony aunt"Dad, Mom (or whatever you call her), I have a really painful bump that I think might be some sort of skin infection around my vagina. I'm embarrassed to have to ask you this but it has become extremely painful, and it isn't going away like I had hoped it would and it needs to be seen by a doctor. This is so embarrassing, I can't even believe I have to tell you this but it hurts now to walk. Please get me an appointment with the doctor right away. Thanks."

Yes you can tell your dad. You just tell him you need to go to the doctor because there's a problem with your lady parts.

Look just because you might argue with stepmom about cleaning your room, this is very different. This is your health they will not mind.

They will mind if they find out you've been talking to internet strangers and looking up online doctor sites to see what it is.

Tell them you need to go to then doctor if they ask then you tell them you have a painful lump on your lady bits.

Hi angoy aunts,

I havent spoken to my mom about, shes a step and we never really talk with out me getting in trouble.Thats why its hard. I obviously cant talk to my dad about it.

It doesnt hurt as much now, the bump isnt as big. I was supposed to get a shot for ah... I dont remember exactly but i supposed to get it 6mo ago. It was for cervical cancer.I dont know the correct term but, do you think maybe thats a possibility why its there?

The hurt when i asked this question, it hurt to walk around, cause the bump would brush against something in my jeans. Like i said, i ignored it and waited til i could ask you.

Btw, i still dont quite understand what molluscum contiguousm.

Thank you.

largentsgirl89 agony auntYou don't have to tell your parents that you masturbate or that that is even how you found it or why you think it's there. It quite possibly sounds like an infected ingrown hair.

Talk to your mom. She should understand as a woman, you shouldn't be scared to talk to your mom about something like this. Just tell her you found it while you were in the shower and it hurts to the touch or it just generally hurts. Tell her you want to see a doctor about it. I'm sure your mom will be understanding about it.

Its never a good idea to try and self treat an illness that is related to your genitals. Molluscum contiguousm is a viral infection of the skin and usually affects children.

what is molluscum contiguousm?

Cerberus, i considered that. Ive always been scared of my parents so i dont know how to bring it up. i dont think i have the guts.

Tante Vic, Its skin color as far as i can see. It could be ingrown hair. But i cant exactly see.

Please don't be afraid to tell your mom. Just like Cerberus, just tell her you felt something like a bump and it's painful to the touch down there. You felt it while you were washing yourself down there. I am sure she'll understand and would like to get you checked. For all we know, it may be a pimple, an ingrown hair, it could be anything. I don't think it's a hpv. But you won't know what it is unless you tell mom and then maybe the two of you can go to the doctor. I hope this helps.

tonik agony auntHey just go to the doctor for help, not all bumps and rashes are from STIs. The doctor will give you something that will make you feel better. When you masturbate make sure you do not do anything that contacts with your vagina in a bad way. Make sure you are wet enough. Masturbation is much safer.

Best to question a doctor, but calm down, don't be so frightened until you've gotten professional opinion. In all honesty, it could just be an ingrown hair, depending on its location... Take it from someone who's mother is expert in the unibrow-and-ladymustache-removing sector of the beauty industry... those little buggers can really stay around for ages. I've seen recently my sister pull an ingrown hair out of her toe that was about the length of.. well, you'd rather not know.

Does the irritation have any sort of coloration?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (17 December 2010):

It is not HPV, you can only get that from having sex. Try putting some warm washclothes on it for a couple of days and then take a mirror and look if it's formed a 'head' because more than likely, it's just a zit....yes, you get them there too :(

A reader, anonymous, writes (17 December 2010):

there are so many things the internet is not good for looking up - medical things are number one on the list!!! I would call your doctor yourself and speak with the nurse. Tell her your concern so that your doctor will have a heads up before you come into the office and so you can get some reassurance.

There are several things this could be... a skin tag, busted blood vessels, a pimple (yes you can get them there) and many more. You are not likely to get HPV if you did not have intercourse. But you might look into getting the vaccine while you are there. If you plan on being sexually active in the future... then it is better than getting HPV.

I wish I would have gotten it but long story short I never thought I was going to be sexually active with more than one person. I got a strand of HPV, it has healed and I do not show symptoms (not all HPV causes cancer etc) never have had symptoms.

You have to tell your mom and go to the doctor, that's it easy as that.

Just tell her you found it while washing. It's not a mysterious area you know, just because you notice changes down there doesn't mean she's going to assume you masturbate.

Tell her you found a painful bump there while in the shower and can you go to the doctor please and get checked out.

And no, we don't know what it is and no one should tell you what it might be either, you have to go to the doctor.

A female reader, AnnaLeigh5427 United States +, writes (17 December 2010):

If you haven't had sex it's not an std. It might be a minor irritation or it ould be molluscum contiguousm. Either way go to the doctor, the earlier you catch it the better. You don't have to admit that you masturbate.
