I'm going to be 17 but I dated a 13 year old. Just remember it's wrong to have sex with her if you are 16 and she isn't.

Your age is fine at this point. It is just unsettling to some that at your age, that 2 years and 8 month difference is about 20% of your current life. How do you two match up on the maturity scale? That's what should matter here.

If you do like her and there is nothing sexual between you i see there is nothing wrong with it. But people will not see it this way but you just have to ignore them.

I see dating as a way to get to know the person you are considering in marrying. It is an adult thing to do not for children or teens to be involved with. Just be friends and enjoy each other's company. When dating there is always the temptation to be physical with each other which can and does lead to heavy petting and sex if there are no boundaries in place. Just be her friend and get to know her. Date when she is in high school. I know that your feelings for her are most likely genuine but what can you really do with a girlfriend at your age except do things that friends so. You'll be dependent on others to drive you places and will most likely be chaperoned. Best thing to do is think it over and talk with yours and her parents.

If you like her and realise there should not be anything sexual between the two of you yet then i would not say it was perverted as you are both still children having fun.
Take care.xx.
