A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

This question may sound a bit stupid, but do women ever get paranoid of what they smell like down there? I don't smell or anything but when my boyfriend plays with me I get paranoid just in case I do, and even if I did would a boy tell you? I'm just curious because I want to know and would like a guys' opinions on this more than girls.

arielbriane agony auntI have worried about that at times too, but im sure a guy would tell you. My boyfriend is always laughing about me worrying, because i've brought it up before. He said if it smelled bad, he'd tell me right away. He jokes around with me now, but it is normal to worry. Just be sure to taqke good care of yourself!

C. Grant agony auntSatin is right on. As long as you're healthy and bathe reasonably often, there is nothing to worry about.

And some guys like it more earthy than others. Napoleon, when returning from a campaign, would send a message to Josephine: "ne lave pas." (Don't bathe). He preferred her natural scent after a couple of days rather than that of new soap.

GrimmReality agony auntI for one would be the first to tell a chick (AND HAVE) if I didn't like it. If I am turned off by the strength of the smell I certainly will not put my tongue near it or insert.

Doesent matter if its inappropriate or not..WTF is that all about?

Of course all women are different I suppose but there is a good reason not to go south on a chick after a night at the club if she has been dancing all night. Thats rule number one!

Zwei agony auntIt's a strange question I'll give you that.

But to be honest isn't it an unessisary one?

You're boyfriend loves you right.

you know it's not to much like it matters.

He's not just going to get up and say "Woah... stinks down there" So there nothing to worry about ^^ (Plus that would be inapropriate)

A female reader, Another_Kapiti New Zealand +, writes (17 November 2009):

Another_Kapiti agony auntWhen we're sexually aroused there are going to be smells down there, not unclean smells, just normal ones!

I usually shower first (before we have sex) and use a strawberry body wash so no thoughts of what i smell like enter my mind!

There are certain products on the market (feminine hygiene products) if you're really concerned, but I wouldn't worry about what he thinks! As long as you bathe regularly of course! Hope this makes you feel better.

A male reader, smart25 United Kingdom +, writes (17 November 2009):

smart25 agony auntwell from a guys point of view honestly speaking if it was me i wouldn't do it if i was a little wiffy myself. i would recommend using wet wipes or cleaning it with a quick bit of warm water before sex so the area is more desireable and appealing. i remember reading somewhere that both male and female should wash and be clean before intercourse. hope this helps
