My husband and I are pregnant with twins, this is our third pregnancy and it will be our last. We were thinking about keeping the TWIN part a surprise until they are born. We will be having a planned c section and were thinking that the he could take one baby out and hand it to my mom then say that he is coming in to check on me then bring the second baby out to his mom. Do you think they would be upset at us for keeping it from them for 9 months?

Well why would it upset them? That would be a bit strange. If anything it would be a welcome surprise. Some women may guess though, so be prepared!

Listen, you're going to be pregnant for 9 months love (well I don't know the gestation period for twins, 7 months?) Any woman who's been pregnant knows it aint easy. I think you can afford to have your own little fun. You're pregnant! You can do what you want!

Good luck.xx

wonderingcat agony auntThats right, some more experienced mothers and granmothers may already be able to see the tell-tale signs even if you did not tell them.

When my cousin was carrying twins, it was noticeable until the end of the second trimester. By the end of month 7th however, the babies just grew so fast that it was impossible to not "suspect" that she was carrying twins. But then, identical twins run in the family so it was not that much of a surprise anyways LOL

jessica04 agony auntWow, that is hilarious!

I think it would be great to do, and certainly the biggest surprise ever.

I'm thinking though, if the babies aren't the same sex, maybe ask for gender neutral things if you have a baby shower. Like, green and yellow blankets and cloths.... so you don't tip them off.

Be careful though, some moms are experts at telling what and how many you're carrying ;)
