We rather it didn't happen although it's supposed to be perfectly normal.I've tried putting extra lubricant on the condom but it hasn't made any difference. Should we just laugh it off as one of those things?

Same thing happens to her when she does head stands.

Yea, if anything, laughing should make sex more fun...

It's called queffing or "fanny farts". It is quite normal and for most girls quite embarrassing.
Don't make her feel bad. Put on some music and don't sweat it. It's not GAS it is trapped air.

Go in slowly and air is less likely to be pushed out so fast I've noticed. Don't mention it just move on. Sex is never perfect funny noises just happen.

Extra lube doesn't help, nothing will help. It's called a queef and it just happens, no way of avoiding it. Some positions can make it worse, like very deep positions, but it's really no big deal. Just have fun, laugh for a few seconds and move on (oh but don't make fun of her, you don't want to make her self-conscious. Just reassure her it's nothing to worry about).
Also I think you mean farting noise, pooping doesn't make a noise...
