A female Australia age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hey, I recently wrote the article below but am now wondering if I should tell my mum that my sister had sex?

I feel as though I should because I can't lie to my mum about my sister having had sex.

I know my mum would get rather angry but she might be able to help my sister.

"Recently my sister (15) got a new boyfriend.

Last night, after having dated for about a month he broke up with her.

She was devastated.

Shortly after I found out she had sex with him during their relationship, thus losing her virginity.

My sister and I are very very close, and im 2 years older than her. She looks up to me and I offer her guidance, although in this situation I don't know what to do for her.

Im kind of angry at her for having sex with him, although I won't express these feelings..

I just need to know what to do?

How can I comfort/support my sister in this situation?"

Thanks

shna agony auntyou really shouldnt tell your mum . . . if your sister wants to tell your mum then thats her buisness but it is nothing to do with you who she does and doesnt tell.

if your upset by her actions talk to her connect with her tell her how you feel about the situation and things might feel a bit better . just remind her that sex isnu just physical its emoitional and dont let her be giving everybody a ride . now that she has had sex she might feel all big but just remind her not to become a slut . . sorry no easier way to say it lol =]

superbunny agony auntTo be honest, if all your mother is going to do is get angry at your sister - I don't really see the point in her knowing. If your sister was pregnant, I would understand, but no harm has come from her having sex at the end of the day.

It would be detrimental to yours & your sister's relationship if you were to break her trust, the tension in your house it may cause is something you probably can't imagine!

I only believe in telling people things like that if it is necessary or if the person is damaging themselves. It's too late now, she's lost her virginity unfortunately.

Hope this helps!! xx
