Should I take this job or look for something better?

A female Ireland age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I'm in a bit of a dilemma...we have campus placements going on in our college.

There's one job that i have a good chance of getting...and the location is quite close to where my bf stays...

The thing is, this job is good; but the company isn't that well known...and since its my 1st job; i'm wondering if its a good idea to take it up or wait for something better.

Something better however, means i'll have to stay in an LDR for many more years....

Should i just screw up this interview and look for something better? What is the right thing to do?

CindyCares agony aunt I'd take it.

In the current economy, it's no so easy to land a job if you have no previous experience.

Plus, you say it's a good job, (regardless of being closer to your bf ). If you have something to put on your resume, it will be easier to look for a better position in future.

Abella agony auntNever screw up an interview. Very bad thing to do and Not professional

You either politely decline the interview or you prepare well for the interview

I would research the company on the net. See if they sound like a company you would like to work for. Find out about their direction, what markets they serve, what they are proud of being a part of, their projects, size of the company, their products or services.

Employers LOVE it when a prospective employee has made an effort to find out more about the company.

And if it is a good job it gives you a chance to build your skills and experience NOW, not later. Think what this could become?

The idea of having to hang around, waiting, waiting, not earning well, or no job, does not sit well with me.

I would prepare well for this interview and go through with it, and accept the job if offered.
