I can't work out whether he's being polite or whether he might be interested. He's doing a sporting event in a couple of weeks for charity and has sent a message around work asking for sponsorship. At the moment there's quite a lot of events happening and not many people have sponsored him (some of his family/friends but only 1 person from work). My question is, should i sponsor him, or does this make me look too keen/desperate? Maybe I should wait until some others have sponsored? I'm probably over analysing the situation??

Yes you're over analysing it! Sponsor him! I'll ber it is for a good cause anyway so it's not money wasted however it works out. I doesn't necessarily mean anything (in case you're worried about rumour mongers) - today I sponsored a colleague for the reason that I admired what she was doing and was happy to donate to her chosen charity. Simple as that. And it might spark up the conversation it seems you'd like to have with him ;)

You are definately over-analysing the situation! Sponsor the guy! It shows you have an interest in what he's doing and also tell him that you're a kind hearted and generous person! Dont beat around the bush - life is too short! There is only one way to find out if he likes you- ask him out for a coffee after work so he can tell you more about his charity work? etc etc! Just go for it!! You hve to take chances in life- you never know what may happen! Good luck- I hope it all works out!! :)
