 I think that it would be a great idea but don't do all sad songs. Find some happy ones about being together to lift her spirits when you two are apart. Use songs you two have listened to together even if they aren't sad or romantic but they are fun and up beat.

 Girls love this kind of stuff. Really. Even better? Writing your own song about her! I know plenty of grown women whose favorite memories are being a "Muse" for some guys talent and have a book or a song written about them. :^D
