:) awww! I love these things! oki this is how I would have done it were i in your shoes, 1. at her birthday so something really nice for her like a movie, dinner, dont forget to "ties your shoes all the time" buy her a nice pair of earings or something, and make a point the whole night as though you were gunna propose... but dont, if there is a party, do the party thing and still hold on...2. at home set out nice candles and stuff and have an nice intimate time together3. when your are lying in each others arms slide the ring on her finger and ask her thengood luck eitherway :D

@ anonymous WOW! How romantic! @ Shy Boy , Do what the 'anonymous' says! Make it big! It would 2 great if you arrange it with her family. I would've done it before everyone at her birthday party but that's not that romantic! By the way, can I ask why you didn't do it before? I mean 7 years is very long (for me at least!) Or did you wait 7 years coz it's a lucky number?!

Well my fiance proposed to me on my birthday as well. He took me to NY and did it on top of the empire state building. It was incredible. He had planned the entire thing with my mother. So perhaps the best thing is to discuss with her family about it as well for many reasons. Also, the location was partially due to an old movie I adore. Make it personal, make it about her. And knowing my mother was on the other end of the phone waiting in tear for me to call her with the news was just amazing. Good luck to you both!
