A male United Kingdom age 26-29, anonymous writes:

PLEASE REPLY SOON! Well I went to a party back in May, and started to talk to this girl that I had briefly met before, and we sort of acted as if we were going out(SHE kissed ME etc), but neither of us asked eachother out, and I left the party and then nothing else happened for about 3 months, but now I REALLY like her but we barely ever see eachother. I met her in my local town about a month ago, but I really didn't see her for very long and we barely got to talk. And just today, My friends devised and composed a text that they thought would work, which consisted of : "Hey, I know we haven't really spoken much since that party but I really like you, and I wanted to know if you would ever consider going out with me? x". So my friends sent that to her with my consent, and I got a call very soon after, which went like this: "Hi, it's *****"

so I said "Oh hai :)" She said: "I just got a text from you, is it true?"

so I said "Oh, well my friends have had my phone recently, what did it say? I'm really sorry :("

"Oh it said about the party..."

"Oooohhhh right I'm very very sorry :("

She said "No, it's fine don't worry"

....

....

....Me: "Yeah I'm sorry about that, I might see you soon?" "Yeah hopefully, cya :)"

Which was obviously inconclusive. Should I phone her now and explain myself??!?!!! PLEASE REPLY SOON!!!

tennisstar88 agony auntRelax, call her..there's no need to explain yourself. Just act like nothing happened. Ask her out for this weekend while you're at it.

Cheers guys, I'll give it a try :) I have to add that she said (not to me) that she would prefer a boyfriend who is older than her, and she is older than me. And to justify why I lied in the phone call, I panicked. We all do, right? ;)

You should call her and ask her on a date. It seems to me that you would have to make the first move. If you really want this to happen, then thats what you have to do.
