Only thing is I'm still quite lonely and wondering if it's worth trying to get a girlfriend at the moment. Therapy could take a while to end and I'm sick of being single but then I'm afraid I'd be back in my vicious circle - trying to make a girlfriend make up for the lack of unconditional love I experienced as a child and then driving her away and then being even more miserable. Help!

Have you thought about just having a friend you need to be single untill your issues are resolved but you can have friends who will get you through ask your therapist what they think.
Good Luck
