Should I go with my ex or hers?

A female Ireland age 30-35, *rivateGirl writes:

I have the ultimate dilemma! Lately, for some reason I've been getting out of the ordinary male attention.

Firstly it started with my ex, we went on a date recently, as bad as it was we agreed to see each other again. Which may or may not be a good idea but I feel like giving it another go as we only broke up due to distance but now I live 20minutes away.

But then the other night I got an anonymous message from this guy, who was quite friendly and seemed interested. It turns out that I know this guy, he used to be kinda kissing my friend on nights out. This guy and I appear to have quite a bit in common but the thing is I'm afraid to do anything because of my friend!

She gave mixed signals when they were meeting up saying she wasn't really into him and he told me he really didn't think they had much in common!

Should I tell my friend(how if so?) or wait to see if there's a spark?

OR

Should I just totally forget about him and go for my ex?

I would like to thank everyone in advance for their inputs.

CindyCares agony auntWell, they say that exes are exes for a reason, but if the reason was actually ONLY the distance, I 'd say you have a chance to make it work with your ex.

And if you want to make it really work this time around, .. you should not be playing on too many tables, no ?
