writes: my ex and i broke up about a month ago. it was a mutual thing, we went to college and the long distance thing wasn't working because we didn't have enough time to create a strong relationship first. we still like each other, we just can't make it work because of the distance. On the shallow end, my mind tells me we need to stay broken up, but deep down i feel a strong urge to get back together. Should we get back together?, and should we wait until we can see each other again on a daily basis and build that strong relationship?

reader, anonymous, writes (28 September 2009): This is verified as being by the original poster of the questionok, so she texted me for the first time since we broke up the other day. as we were talking, it was like we were still together, i.e the little jokes, goofing around, etc. this just confuses me even more. shes only a few hours away, so id be able to see her once a month or so.

I think you'd be better letting her go. I wasn't working before because of the distance and unless you're BOTH prepared to work very hard. You're at college, so it might be better to socialize and find someone else. There are others out there.
