I met my boyfriend online and we conversed on the internet for about 1 and a half before I gave him my cell phone number. Then after about 2 months we decided to take the relationship to the next level.

Doing the smart thing when I went to meet him I made sure my mother came with me and I brought a friend because my mother wasn't staying, though his parents were there.

It turned out that he was in fact the same age as he stated and was the same person. Then after that we dated more and talked on the phone most of the time because I couldn't see him too much.

My friends say that you shouldn't meet boys over the internet because you know nothing about them. My mother still doesn't know that I met him online, but I'm scared to tell her, because she might say something about it. Do you think it is wrong to have a boyfriend you met online?

It's not really wrong to get boyfriends online, but you must be careful of meeting up with them. My friend who was 13 at the time, had met this boy on a chat room and she saved all of their conversations together, he said that he was 13, slim, good looking, average weight, average height and single. She had been dating him online for about 2 months before he asked to meet her, face-to-face. She had been dying to see him so she said yes. He told her to look out for the boy in a white and black hoody, outside a shop. The next day, me and her set out to look for her boyfriend, I went in the shop and stayed by the window just incase she got into any trouble. After half an hour, we both saw someone wearing s white and black hoody, but it wasn't the person we were expecting. He came up to my friend and asked, "Are you the girl I met online?" my friend was gob smacked and turned around to look at me. He was a man in his thirties, he was fat and really unattractive. He then said "Hey, age doesn't matter does it?" I then ran out off the shop and took my friend by the hand and took her home. She told her mother and the police arrested him. I really couldn't imagine what would of happened if I wasn't there. She could of been dead. So, you could tell her, but it's all up to you.
