My friend don't hold a funeral over it.Are you 50 yet,to start worrying?Let nature take it's full course on you.If you are so anxious,go and see the doctor so they play with your body tissues like turkey! Biologically, men's puberty's slower and comes later than a lady born on the same day as you.So try to date girls much younger than you,she won't be concerned about your fears but be careful lest you are taken in for child molestation or similar.DON'T worry about it too much, things will change with time.

All the best.

A female reader, pgissyd United Kingdom +, writes (30 November 2007):

pgissyd agony aunt18 Is generally the time when you should be fully developed, however some people do take longer. But as you have had no hormonal changes, you need to see an endocrinologist.

Make an appointment with your gp, explain the lack of hormonal influence on your body, make it clear you are worried and need to see a specialist. He should refer you to an endo or similar for homone tests.

My sons pituartry gland in his brain did not grow properly before he was born, and now he cannot produce ANY hormones himslef, so I have to give him artificial hormones all day everyday, and extra if he becomes ill. so I understand a fair amount of the homonal side of the body nowadays.

The pituarity gland is the start of your hormone system, it then goes to the hypothalmus, and from there you have the nervous system and many many branches to many many homonal glands, You only need one of those glands to be under developed to throw a few things off. I would guess at the testosterone glands, or maybe one in the line before them. But the only way you will know is to see the specialists.

At worst they will give you a shot of testosterone.

Take care, let us know what the doc says xxxxxx

You could go to a doctor. But go to a urologist.

Also, 21 is the time that puberty is finished. So you have a few more years. I wouldn't worry about it.

TasteofIndia agony auntHey there,

Definitely call up your doctor. Don't be worried about going to the doctor - it's their job to deal with this kind of stuff. They see all kinds of problems every day - so don't be worried.

Maybe you're just a late bloomer, or maybe there's a chemical imbalance that a doctor can take care of.

Good luck, sweetness!

A female reader, anonymous, writes (29 November 2007):

Get your pituitary and thyroid checked first. Rule out anything medical.

Once you get any medical causes out of the way, then, you can deal with getting some self confidence to meet women.

Sure, some girls may think it's a bit odd if you have no pubic hair, but, they'll be grateful not to have a face full of hair if they give you head.

jm81690 agony auntThat's sounds like some sort of a medical condition man, I never hit puberty til I was 15, but I've never heard of anyone not hitting it at 18.

If I were you I'd get that checked out, it's not normal.

A male reader, NewMod United States +, writes (29 November 2007):

If I was in your shoes, I would be seeing my physician. When is the last time you've had a physical? Everyone develops at their own pace, but 18 sounds a little old to have no pubic hair. See your doctor. Perhaps you have a hormone imbalance of some sort.
