Question - (15 November 2009) 3 Answers - (Newest, 15 November 2009)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I don't know how to break up with my boyfriend.

I don't want to be with him anymore because he doesn't respect me and we have a terrible relationship.

Whenever I'm about to say something to him something always happens to make me not say anything. Like, he'll say how happy he is at the moment, and I don't want to be the one to upset him.

What can I do?

A reader, anonymous, writes (15 November 2009):

Please, please tell him it's over. His feelings are secondary to yours. If you don't, you will end up in a very unhappy place, sacrificing your peace of mind and sense of self just because you don't want to hurt his feelings.

Tine agony auntthen he obviously knows whats about to come. If you are unhappy in this relationship honey then there really is no point in being in it. Its nice that you are repecting his feelings however by doing this you are hurting yourself, and its not worth it. Just end it now or you'll regret it even more.

He doesn't respect you and you don't want to be with him. End it, no matter how much it hurts him. You're only going to get more and more resentful and frustrated, and both of you can move on if you split.
