A female Australia, anonymous writes:

How do you get someone to stop using your mailing address without your permission, short of hiring a lawyer and pursuing legal action, which we cannot afford?

My b/f's ex g/f who now lives 1000 miles away and has been gone for over 5 years, still uses his mailing address when she goes to the doctor, or has other expenses where a bill will be mailed. I know it's her way of dodging her bill collectors and I know it's illegal but I don't know how to stop it.

We cannot afford legal action against her. I have notified every creditor, every vendor that sends us mail address to our home, with her name on it, to please change their records, but the mail still keeps coming and I know it's because she still uses his address so she won't have to face her bill collectors.

What's a person to do???? I'm sick of it.

Ok no flag came up so i'm not sure where you live, but if you go to the post office they can put on redirect on mail thats in different names, return to sender is the best way. If any letter comes through write 'this person no longer lives here, return to sender' then the companies have to do something as this means their bill wont get paid. Give it ago x p.s she is dumb though as it will catch up with her eventually.
