writes:i have recently started dating my friend.i want to kiss her. I was just talking to her on the phone with her and jokingly i just said that i'll tickle her. She said that she won't even let me touch her.  I was like that in my early relationships, only instead of saying it out loud, I would think it in my head. I was young, I was a little bit sexually awkward (even if "sexually" meant holding hands and being affectionate, etc.), and ultimately just not ready. Maybe she is a late bloomer and just needs to take things slowly.
You may be better off starting to get physically intimate (even if that just means holding hands or touching at all) in private. Give her a little time, sweet! Good luck!

 She may not comfortable with a public relationship, or if you her first "real" boyfriend she may be nervous. It could even be that she still only sees you as a friend? You did say you started dating a friend. Try asking her in privit if it's ok with her to hold hands/kiss what ever. If she says its not ask her why, but don't pressure her or you will probably end up without a girlfriend ;)

 Some girls are like that. She's just not ready to do things like that yet and wants to take it very slowly.
I had a boyfriend who always wanted to kiss but I wouldn't be ready, so I'd say no. I still loved him though, and he knew.

Maybe if you were trying to be affectionate in a public place, she was not comfortable with the situation. That said, a statement that she won't even let you touch her is very un-girlfriend-like. Or is she just very conservative?
