I agree, a nickname should come naturally and actually match the person you are giving it to, so you do need to know her better first. My partner calls me guinea pig from time to time because of the way I eat french fries hands-free. It's not something you figure out before you've spent some time with them. Whatever name you choose, run it buy her first :P

everyone here in my state calls everyone HON... it's the state nickname...
Nicknames in this case are more pet names and you can't force them.
my husband and I use HON most of the time... or sweetie.... he hates BABE but that's one I've been known to use... or he'll use just the first syllable of my name...
we also have special pet names we use only on very special occasions... (I use it in cards or special emails for him) sometimes he uses it to try to get my attention....
but those special pet names evolved over time... first came a version of mine... then it got modified..... and then a few weeks after mine, his came along due to mine....
we had a young lady just last week ask about this but she had been with her boyfriend a while AND she was a mere 16.
SHE SAID SHE WANTS YOU TO CALL HER SOMETHING NICE... but that makes no sense till you have a history... have you met her in real life yet?
I'm not sure how folks can demand you call them something cute and personal till they have a history with you... that seems rather... thought provoking to me... I'm wondering if she may be a quick mover like CMMP said...

REgardless of what name you DO choose to call this lovely creature..... keep this in the back of your mind, in case you need a "fall-back" endearing nickname: "Hunchy-bunchy"
It will work... I GUARANTEE IT!!!!!
Good luck....

I don't understand why you're making such a big deal out of it. This is one of those things that's supposed to be totally natural. Did your mom call you something? Did she call your dad something?
My mom called me sweetie, still does I guess. Guess what I call my wife? My wife's mom called her "cielo", and she calls me cielo as well.
Some terms of endearment sound forced when people say them. For me it's "baby". I can't stand it and wouldn't say it. Maybe you should make sure you'd feel comfortable saying whatever is on your list.
I want to add that this lady may want to take things a little quicker than is ideal if she's trying to make you call her a pet name. You may want to make the conscious decision to take things slow. Plus it'll make things more interesting for the two of you.
