writes: hi there, my girlfriend is currently in Durban on holiday with her family, i phoned her earlier, and she said she needed my permission for something, so she asked me if she can go out for lunch with 1 of her male friends on Friday, so i said yes she can go because i trust her 100%. but now i asked her if her mother knows that she's gonna go, she said no she's gonna go secretly and not to tell anyone. that's what made me a little concerned, coz i don't even know this guy. so i really don't know what to do. please help me figure this out. is it wrong for me to be suspicious coz i really do trust her fully, and she did ask me if she can go.

This is one of those 'It depends', there isn't enough informaiton to make a determination. it could be a secret within their family, maybe their is a history with them and someone else, and getting out may stir up bad feelings. it sounds like it's somethig wihin their family, if the mom knew and said it was a secret.
I wouldn't worry because she asked your approval first. If it was something secret with you, you wouldn't have been asked.

I think the fact that she asked you and 'you' know where she's going then you shouldn't be worried. When she gets back just ask her how everything went and Im sure she'll calm your nerves about anything. She probably just doesnt want her mother to know bc she doesnt want to hear any crap from her. If you say you trust her, then trust her. Im sure she's a great girl- just the fact that she let you know. Good luck
