I read somewhere the average was 6 inches in girth and 2.5 inches wide...What's the actual average fully erect girth and width of a penis, and is mine really too thin? I'm 17 years old, by the way.I'm also a bit overweight (5'9 / 255 lbs...) and she told me that if I lost weight, more blood would be able to flow to my penis and that would make it "thicker" and that it would also appear longer. Is that true?I feel so insecure about this now.Is there any way I can make it thicker? She sounded really disappointed with mine...

Far more important reasons come before my penis.

I measured it from the top, by the way.
So losing weight wouldn't affect the girth much?
Urgh

Hey Buddy,
I agree with everyone that losing weight will reduce the fat deposits around the shaft making it "look" longer. It depends on where you measured it from. I had what i considered a short penis. I found this technique on the internet called jelq. It does work. It might give you some length. maybe a little girth but not much. Seems girth is a little more difficult to get. contact me if you need more info.

As an exercise science major who trains college athletes, is a personal trainer, and someone who is going to start their own fitness consulting business, I can tell you that you lose fat and gain fat (per square inch) evenly. This means, you will not have little fat on your pubic area relative to the rest of your body, by area. Does that make sense? You want to be healthy and not have 1/3 of your penis covered by fat, lose the weight. That is the only way.

And how do you tell how much fat is around there anyway? I can push it down significantly and it makes a dent, but I can't really tell how much of it is fat and how much it factors.

The issue is "tall grass makes the mailbox post look shorter". It depends on how thick your "grass" fat around your dick is. In my case I didn't ever carry much fat there even when I was at my heaviest so my results my not represent what will happen to someone else.
But I will say this, my erections got better overall when I was thinner. The absolute best one isn't a whole lot different but I get the best ones much more often now.

as someone who prides himself on a big dick I will gladly and honestly admit that having a big dick is NOT everything.
Be attentive and be loving to a woman that you feel you should be with. A woman that says, "you have a small penis you suck", is not worth your time.
However, if she happened to say it the way you claim she said it, she was not being rude or spiteful. She was saying a fact.
The FACT is, that you have a large deposit of pubic fat and have potential for a lot of extra length that is unusable, because you are overweight.
The FACT is, blood cannot get to your dick as easy when you have fat blocking it.
The FACT is, if you lose weight, get fit, etc., you will be more confident, and won't have such a shatterable ego.
You have so much untapped potential and you are not naturally that small.
I would say, you are about 6.5 inches long, at a healthy weight.
So, she seemed to be nice but HONEST.

Young women can do a lot of damage, and seldom know much about the topic. Sounds like you got some great advice here, don't let this one girl hurt your self image. Our egos are fragile and she's done you very wrong, most likely she was being mean. Every penis has it's own characters, and know that guys with over sized cocks may never get a decent blow job or the pleasure of taking a girl anally. Girls appreciate a smaller (rather than larger cock) as the guy is usually going to work it harder, and not ASSUME that his big dick will bring her joy w/o him having to know anything.

thicker, but as others said, lose it for your overall health. She really doesn't sound very nice. To paraphrase Sam Kinnison: "Too small, eh? Cool, it's anal time!"

reader, anonymous, writes (22 March 2010): Having worked in the sex industry for many years I think I have seen every possible shape/size/colour and configuration (including piercings, tattoos and other random modifications!)
The truth is, some of the best sessions I ever had was with a guy who was actually malformed and only had 2.8 inches in length. He could get it in using certain positions so straight sex was ok but (obviously) not too exciting for me but he was incredibly attentive and inventive and also willing to experiment until he found what made me squirm.
This guy could make me scream! I looked forward to his bookings because sex with him because it wasnt about wham bam, it was about being incredibly human, shortcomings and all and finding ways to have a blast anyway.
If your girlfriend was dissapointed, suggest that you both explore alternative ways to share pleasure. This could be as simple as tantric sex or intimacy games or can go into toys or even fetish. Whatever it is she needs to get off.
Good luck hun, if she is any decent sort and you are any kind of considerate lover then it wont come between you. (no pun intended)

Ii heard about being overweight contributes to size of a penis only because of a blood flow

If you still want to be with her you can also try different sexual positions; for example, entering her from behind then have her close her legs it will help to provide more friction.
I hope this helps some and the kegels exercise really do help.

the average is not 6 inches long 2.5 inches in diameter...
the average is 5.5 inches long 1.7 inches wide and 5 inches around
also, your weight has a large part in not being able to see it...
#1. for every 35 pounds you lose, you gain an inch in length, because the pubic fat disappears.
#2. you cannot get high quality erections, because you are overweight.
no offense, but that is not slightly overweight
5'9" 255 means you have a lot of weight loss that you can do, and a lot of inches you can gain.
your maximal length is much greater than what you have been able to measure...

You can make it longer by losing weight... 10 pounds is supposed to add 1 inch if you are overweight. I don't know about girth but the additional blood flow from a healthier lifestyle might do the trick... and a healthier lifestyle includes a better girlfriend!
