writes:Okay so I was dating this girl for a little while we fell for each other pretty quickly, even before we started dating people knew we were made for each other. So then suddenly she text breaks up with me. But she wants me to be her "best friend". My problem is I am not sure if I can do this because it will hurt to much for me. Should I stay her friend?

reader, anonymous, writes (11 June 2009): HECK NO! first of all she disrespected you by breaking up that way, second she just wants you as her "fallback guy" someone who'll still be there, after she dates other guys and none of them work out. The worst thing you can do to yourself and stay around as her teardrier, and having to listen how the guys she's screwing with are all crap.
She'll respect you even less if you become her puppy dog. Show her you have dignity and self respect, if you can't have it your way then do not give what she wants either. cut off contact now.

i mean sure it'll be awkward but at least you'll have her in your life :)
and who knows what will happen in the future with you guys something may blossom out of your friendship...
pretty harsh she dumped you by text though ... maybe she wants to get to know you a bit better as a friend and take it from there.
